Steve Gortmaker

Dynamic Fitness & Strength continues to build its powerhouse team with the addition of Steven Gortmaker. Coach Gortmaker has had long career in the world of strength and conditioning. Gortmaker’s 20-plus year career includes coaching at Oklahoma, Florida State, Oregon, South Carolina, South Florida, Southern Miss, Tennessee, Kansas and Western Kentucky.

His career as a Master Strength and Conditioning Coach, certified by the CSCCa and CSCS, is highlighted by working with 15 first-round draft picks, 95 total players drafted in the NFL, a Heisman Trophy winner, three Jim Thorpe Award winners, two Butkus Award winners, an Outland Trophy winner, an 800-meter national champion, a world indoor 800-meter champion and multiple Olympians. He has also been part of 13 bowl games.
Before beginning his coaching career at Oklahoma, Gortmaker played defensive back there from 1995-98 and earned Academic All-Big 12 honors and Sooner scholar-athlete recognition.
He is a native of White Deer, Texas. When he isn’t teaming up with schools and facilities to build the best weight room for their program, he enjoys time with his wife Brooke, and is the proud father of daughter, Mikaela and two sons, Kanon and River.
